Where Are Your Bulbs?

A few weeks ago, before it got WAY too cold to dig in the ground, I bought a few hundred flower bulbs, and began the process of planting them.
I have one particular area in my peaceful north yard that I decided would be my flower garden dedicated to my Mother who is in Hospice Care. She won’t be here in the spring, but I wanted to see something to remind me of her each and every year.
As I planted the bulbs, it dawned on me that some of them may not even sprout in the spring, and some of them may be the most beautiful Lilly’s and Tulips that I have ever seen. The only control that I have over the bulbs, is in the process of making sure that I dig them deeply enough, space them far enough apart, and keep them watered so that they may flourish. Actually, the most important factor is that I take the time and consideration to plant them in the first place!
I started thinking about my sales strategy, and how sometimes I get a phone call from someone that I may have met many months ago, and that they want to meet with me! They were a bulb that I planted, and it took them many months to sprout. At that point, I just need to tend to them in order to turn them into a beautiful flower or plant that re-emerges season after season.
Sometimes we water our existing trees and grass and flowers for so long, that we forget to make a new and beautiful garden, and have faith that it will grow into something amazing.
After planting Moms Flower Garden, I decided to plant several other bulbs throughout my property so that I could have beauty in many areas. I even planted bulbs in the middle of the open grass, so that I could start having beauty in areas where most people do not! So when you drive by my house, and you see the lone tulip in the middle of the lawn, remember that you have the power to put beauty anywhere in your life, even in the strangest places. All you have to do is begin the planting process, follow through, and have faith.
I think that I will do some cold calls in the spring, and deliver Mom’s flowers to some people in business that I do not know yet, but would like to be able to nurture Season after Season. That’s exactly what my Mom would have done.
As far as my Moms flower garden? Mom always loved purple. I did not plant any bulbs that are supposed to produce purple this time, (according to the box that they came in) but I bet that some purple flowers grow anyway. Things usually turn out differently than we plan. I’ll let you know in the spring.
I wish a beautiful garden for each and every one of you. Thank you for making mine so special by taking the time to read this blog right now. Now get out there and start planting, and let me know if Wrap-Aholic! can ever be of any help.
Blessings,
Jenny Reisch~Wrap-Aholic!

Jenny, Thanks for including me on this blog. Although very sorry to hear about your mother, it sounds like she was a great lady and raised a very cool daughter. My prayers for her are on the way…JP
Jenny,
I love the beauty that you are spreading thru out your yard in honor of your mother and also the beauty that you bring into others lives just being you. I would love to see you do a wrap for yourself that is all tulips and a variety of colors with a focus on the Purple tulip in honor of your mother.. you could always be surrounded with her, she would be hugging you as you drive in your vehicle. Just a thought.. Blessings to you and your Mom and entire family.
Your friend, Jenna
